Joaquin has directed documentaries in Chile and Argentina and later focused on producing in advertising, television and events, but he eventually followed his passion for photography.
Since 2011, he has stepped away from TV to focus on Brutastuta Audiovisual, where he captures photos and videos for companies like Disney, Booking.com, Airbnb and festivals such as Lollapalooza and Ultra. These experiences marked his first collaborations with artists like Lorde, Steve Angello and Billie Eilish.
In 2019, Joaquin moved to Sydney, Australia, to explore his personal projects while also working with the NSW Parliament, the University of Sydney, UTS, Amazon and international photography agencies like Meero, Snappr and OCUS.
In 2021, after being nominated as ‘Photographer of the Year’ by Disney Cruise Lines, Joaquin was recognised as one of Sydney’s top photographers by the Snappr agency.
From 2025, Joaquin settled down in Potts Point with "Kiyen Films & Photography" where he offers in-house Headshot Photography, among other services.
